About me
Rick Davis started in the fire service at The Anderson’s on the plant emergency organization (PEO) in 1976. He worked in the grain elevator from 1971 and remained on the PEO until he left in 1993. During his time at the Andersons, he fought several grain elevator fires at the Andersons and some neighboring grain elevators. Rick was hired full-time in the EMS Bureau for the City of Maumee and retired in 2016. Rick went to work for the State of Ohio, teaching grain rescue in Reynoldsburg and all over the state. Rick also leads a team of 10 very talented individuals from the fire service called the “Northwest Ohio Grain Rescue Team”. Since their inception, we have been called to assist in numerous grain rescues and silo fires.
Their class focuses on the instruction and strategies for first responders who respond to agricultural incidents. In addition, their two classes will focus on emergency response plans involving the flowing or entrapment of grain and agricultural accidents.
Please dress appropriately for hands-on activities which will be outside for the afternoon portion of the class.
