Sat. Back to Basics Rescue
Saturday March 8, 2025 9:00am - 4:00pm EST
This HANDS-ON class introduces “old school” & often forgotten knowledge, equipment, & techniques that still have a place in the fire service.  Attendees will rotate through skill stations where equipment will be reviewed & utilized before being put to the test in scenarios based on real rescues.
Don’t let the title fool you, because you are guaranteed to leave this class a better rescuer armed with the knowledge of the intricacies of equipment you already have, alternate ways to use it, and tactics/techniques that you may have never seen before.

Sun AM only - “Be the hardest worker in the room”: Performing the job as a female in the Fire Service
Sunday March 9, 2025 9:00am - 12:00pm EDT
TBA
In this session, we are going to cover multiple aspects of being a female on the job. We will be covering a wide array of things women may encounter on the job as well as just being a female on the job. Our main focuses are being more efficient throwing a ladder or doing a rescue drag/carry, going over how policy in a department is important to your overall success and what to look for, requesting for gear that fits you appropriately, and answering all questions there are. We are going to open the floor for Q&A at the end of our session. This session is open to both male and female. It is intended to educate and facilitate having women in departments.

Sun. AM - Achieving Tactical Success in the Rural Environment
Sunday March 9, 2025 9:00am - 12:00pm EDT
TBA
An incident's strategic goals and tactical objectives do not entirely change because the incident occurs in the rural countryside instead of the big city! What does change is the available staffing to accomplish these goals/objectives, the notification times of/response times to the incident, the water supply for fires, and many other variables that may or may not be within our control. We do not get a “do-over” or a “reset button” because we were not ready to perform. This class will examine the factors that commonly impact rural emergency response and proven strategies to mitigate these factors to achieve tactical success. This should be a must-attend for any firefighter or fire officer who regularly operates in or responds to rural environments where resources are not just limited but often scarce!

Sun. AM - Scene Size Up/360
Sunday March 9, 2025 9:00am - 12:00pm EDT
TBA
The size up and 360 of any incidents is the beginning piece of any incident for command, tactics, and strategy. The ability to effectively communicate the fire conditions, building construction, hazards, and the next steps needed to mitigate the problem sets the tempo for the incident. This class will establish all benchmarks needed for a clear, and concise radio report with video and simulation interactions.
