The program is structured to impart essential knowledge about modern vehicle construction and the behavior of metals during accidents to rescuers. Grasping these concepts is vital for reducing the time needed for extrication and enhancing the chances of survival for those involved. It covers both elementary and sophisticated techniques associated with the use of extrication tools, as well as an understanding of vehicle safety systems and their construction. 
  • Identifying and Describing Tools and Equipment: -Recognizing the levels of rescue vehicles (e.g., light rescue vehicles). -Identifying common tools and equipment carried on rescue vehicles. 
  • Scene Safety and Stabilization: -Establishing scene safety zones. -Stabilizing vehicles. -Isolating potentially harmful energy sources -Determining access and egress points. -Creating openings for rescue. 
  • Patient Extraction: -Disentangling victims. -Removing packaged victims to designated safe areas. -Terminating vehicle incidents.! 
PPE will be required for portions of this class.
